Office Yoga & Corporate Wellness"Yoga is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body." - Harvard Review, 2015 |
Sitting at a desk all day, skipping lunch to juggle deadlines and meetings (or grabbing a drive thru lunch on the go) can contribute to stiffness, tension and stress that lowers employee energy levels, likely raising employer costs.
Most would agree that workplace stress is a significant contributor to health problems, and those health problems cost employees thousands - and companies billions - of dollars every year. Why aren't we connecting the dots? CubeFit Yoga delivers the benefits of yoga right into the office. Any office or business location can host an onsite yoga class, whether the objective is physical fitness, stress relief, or a break from the day. |
CubeFit Yoga FounderShanna Lee, RYT"As companies seek to hire the best employees available on the market, they'll continue to invest in keeping them around, I want to keep them healthy and happy!" |
During a 10+ year career in corporate marketing and sales, Shanna noticed her career was taking a toll on her physically and mentally, but her schedule made it difficult to place any emphasis on personal well-being. She began practicing yoga, ultimately becoming a certified instructor - with no plans to teach. Soon enough, as life would have it, in addition to her "day job" she also taught yoga at a couple studios and invited coworkers to attend her classes after hours and on weekends.
A partner in her firm suggested that she teach office classes at lunchtime or after work, and to her surprise - as well as to the surprise of some reluctant participants - everyone agreed they wanted it more regularly. Office yoga produced a positive ripple effect in the office. Word got out to Shanna's clients, and other companies wanted to try it, and — “for fun” — CubeFit was born (Cubicle+Fitness). The project quickly became a mission: to share the benefits of yoga with those who could greatly benefit from yoga but were least likely to seek it out. Though corporate wellness is a big topic right now, very few companies have an organized strategy (or budget!) for incorporating it into their culture. Shanna hopes to help change that by delivering yoga and wellness to companies looking to improve the wellbeing of their employees. |
